I'd originally planned to come to China for just one year, but I've enjoyed myself so much that I've decided to stay on and experience another major city. (I also want to continue developing my Mandarin.) My time in Shenzhen has been great, and I'll miss it when I leave in four months' time. Thanks for giving me this opportunity!

I would like to say how great CTLC has been to me. It has been an amazing experience and I felt so supported not only
by the Coordinators but by the other teachers. I have already recommended this program to several of my friends back home.
Good luck with the next batch of teachers.

Deposit
There is no fee for the application. Upon acceptance
to the program a $300 deposit is due; payment of
that deposit locks your place in the program. The deposit
is 50% refundable until March 31, 2012.
-
Program fee Benefits
The program fee is $1900 ($1600 + $300 deposit). The program fee includes required medical insurance, Chinese entry visa, the August training
course (tuition, housing, tours and TEFL textbook). In addition you will receive a residence permit, Shenzhen salary of RMB 6,500 per month, housing
and utilities in Shenzhen, a travel bonus, and reimbursement for airline tickets (see below). These are equivalent to $15,000 in total benefits.
The remainder of the program fee ($1600) is due July 1, 2012.

Chinese language course in the Fall and Spring semesters
The Chinese language courses, which begin in the August training, continue in the Fall and Spring semesters on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, at a central location. That provides the additional advantage of seeing everyone twice a week. The courses are specifically designed for our program and are taught by Shenzhen University faculty. Your school will arrange your teaching schedule to leave those two afternoons free. The Chinese language course in the Fall semester is required (tuition US$250); the Spring course is optional (tuition US$250). The tuition for Fall (and optionally Spring) is deducted from the airline ticket reimbursement.
-
Reimbursement of roundtrip airline ticket
The program provides coordinated reservation service for the purchase of your
roundtrip airline ticket to China.
Your reimbursement will be half in February 2013, after you begin the Spring semester, and half at the end of your
contract on June 15, 2013.
-
Deferral of student loans
You will be eligible to apply for deferral of payment of student loans on the
basis of limited income in China.
