Applications are only accepted November 1, 2011 through April 1, 2012.
To join the August 2012 - June 15, 2013 group, there is a three-step application process.
Begin with the Preliminary Application, which for your convenience is offered in both an online and printed version.
- Online Preliminary Application
For the fastest processing of your application, use the Online Preliminary Application.
When you submit your preliminary application on-line you will receive an acknowledgement message. If you meet the basic eligibility requirements, you will then receive instructions within five business days for completing the second part of the application.
- Printed Preliminary Application
If you prefer, you download the Preliminary Application form and then send it as an attachment to an email message or send it by fax or postal mail. Printed Preliminary Application, which is available here.
If you submit your preliminary application as an email attachment or by fax or postal mail, when we receive your preliminary application we email (or mail) the second part of the application to you.
 This form is an Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If your computer does not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader download it for free.
When your application is complete, you will be contacted for a telephone interview.
You will be notifed when an acceptance decision has been made. Successful applicants will
receive an acceptance letter, with an invoice for the $300 processing fee,
payment of which locks in your place in the August 2012 group. That fee is 50% refundable until
March 31, 2012.
When the processing fee has been paid you will receive a packet of instructions about the items needed for us to get your entry visa for China and instructions for making your airline ticket reservation with the program's travel agency that will assist you in getting a low-priced ticket on a flight that will get you to Beijing at the same time as the other participants.
