Welcome to ENGLISH TEACHING PROGRAM IN SHENZHEN, CHINA
Spend a year teaching English conversation in a public school of Shenzhen, China’s economic miracle adjacent to Hong Kong. This vibrant city of
ten million has a top-rated school system, modern housing, and a warm climate.
Learn Mandarin Chinese and gain a year’s experience in one of the world’s most important and most interesting cultures. This well-established,
large program is supported by the Shenzhen government and is in its fifteenth year. It is the only program of its kind in China.
The program begins with August 2012 training in China for the TEFL in China Certificate and in Mandarin Chinese language
(4 levels; the beginning course requires no prior study of Chinese), includes housing and tours.
Participants have come from throughout the USA and from Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. They are graduates of more than
200 colleges and universities, and range in age from early 20s to late 50s.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree by July 2012. The Chinese government limits this program to native speakers of English who are citizens of the USA,
